This is driving my crazy-er!
Hi
I have a folder on my desktop that I created to store some music files in. It has one folder in it names "my Music CD". I don't want it there any more I have copied the folder to my second hard drive where is is completely accessible. I can not delete it from the desktop. I can not access the "My Music CD" folder inside it. When ever I try is says that I need permission from the Administrator to access it. I opened the C:\ prompt and set it to administrator rights and rebooted but when I log in as administrator the folder doesn't appear on the desktop. My normal login is shown as the owner of the folder anyway. How do I get rid of this Frankenfolder. Mike |

Ps.
I have determined that it is the folder that had the music files in it, properties show that it is empty now (0 bytes). It will not let me access or delete it. Mike Last edited by MikeMoss; 05-01-2010 at 11:44 PM. |

Is there a CD in the drive when this happens?

Hi
It doesn't make any difference if there is or not. The files that were in this folder were just a collection of MP3 files and not associated with any music CD. They were just copied to this location temporarily before I copied them to a disk. I still have all the files in another location. They don't appear to be in this one any more but it won't let me open, or delete the folder. Mike |

Hi
I found a solution! I downloaded and installed a little program called TakeOwnership! It ads the "Take Ownership" command to the drop-down list when you right click. I had tried to do this manually for about an hour. This is where I got it... http://www.blogsdna.com/2173/add-tak...-windows-7.htm This forced Windows to recognize that I owned the folder and it gave me access and let me delete it. Finally I can go back to just being normally crazy!!! Mike |
