C:\Windows\Panther ?

I found this folder (panther) and am having trouble finding out what it is and does.
Running Windows 7.
All current updates etc...

The folders and files that are in the C:\windows\panther folder are as follows:
every file is dated 5/03/2010. I do not remember anything about that date. And all are small in size

1. setup.exe - 0.00KB
2. UnattendGC- 19KB

the eleven files are:
1. cbs_unattend.log -
2. cbs_unattend.log.dpx -
3. cbs unattend.log.perf -
4. DDACLSys.log -
5. diagerr.xml -
6. diagwrn.xml -
7. pkgmgr.xml -
8. setupact.log -
9. setuperr.log -
10. unattend.bld -
11. unattend.xml -
12. setupinfo

the subfolder C:\windows\Panther\setup is empty and dated 3/1/2007

The subfolder C:\windows\Panther\UnattendGC has four files
1. diagerr/xml -
2. diagwrn.xml -
3. setupact.log -
4. setuperr.log -

I could only find limited info on-line. It seems to be a Vista file. But the info I found was older so 7 may not have been out.
No scans find anything wrong with it, I just want to know what it is.

\Thanks for any help

From what I can find, that Panther folder is apparently a directory containing various setup logs and errors when Vista or Win 7 are installed. Not sure if that means it would be safe to delete or not though.

Well, I moved it to see if anything would ask for it ( no error messages, can't find *.* .DLL or any such stuff). It is about installing. What is confusing is that all the files are dated 5/03/2010. I installed W7 before that.

Thanks
B
