Vista repair - config disk -

Hello, running a vista ultimate x64 on a home build, quad core, ASUS P5k3 Deluxe, 1 Terabyte. Just 2 year old.
Now I'm having problems with OS in a sense that softwares are not responding the right way, IE 8 doesn't show the favorites etc.
Would like to know if I can repair my OS with my original vista disk WITHOUT LOSING ALL MY CONFIGURATION.
thanks,
Mk

I wouldn't do a repair just for the IE issue. What else is going on?

When you say: "IE 8 doesn't show the favorites" what do you mean? Do you see the Favorites button but don't see the favorites inside?

On the Menu bar I can see all the names - file, edit, view, etc
but when I click on Favorites sub-menu on favorites goes blank and the only way to access is clicking on Favorites in the left conner of the explorer where you can see feeds, history.

thanks,
