lots of stuff going on here

ok i was on atdhe.net the other night, I go on it all the time to watch games and stuff. well, i went onto the espn link and my virus program popped up with warnings that this was opening unsafe web sites, i closed it but then i couldnt get on line and i am getting things like "your user profile was not laoded correctly!" and that i have been logged on with the default profile for the system.
I cant get on line and i cant get to a command prompt and i cant run spyware doctor or malware bytes to try to cure the problem. I was able to rename the mbam.exe file and run malware bytes and it did find some things and get rid of them but it didnt fix my problem.
However, I can log on with a "guest" account and get on line and do some things but i cant get into the run command to try to make things stop loading using msconfig because I dont have administrator privileges
when i try to get into safe mode it just boots up regular again.

any help would be awesome here because im at a total loss in my limited knowledge in this stuff.

You are a lucky man...sometimes malware wipes out your system restore points as well.

You are not home free just yet.

You still have to do a number of system scans using a few different anti-malware packages in Safe Mode. The malware can still be there even with the symptoms gone. This is what malware writers want, for you to be complacent and think everything okay while in the meantime they are doing things like using your computer as a spambot or recording your keystrokes or credit card numbers and then uploading that information to them.

Ok, its happening again. I am trying to do a restore but this time i get this error: "the disk LOcal Disk (C has errors." and it tells me that i have to run check disk before I can do a restore. I go ahead and let it "check the disk" but then another error pops up and tells me that "windows cant check the disk while its in use"

David, can you give me some other programs to scan with? i have malware bytes, spybot S&D, I use trend micro anti virus (currently not running)

thanks again for your help

I think you should use the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic software to check the drive. It may be failing.

the reason i believe it is some knd of malware is that malware bytes will not run, in my troubles i have come to know that malware first makes it so malwarebytes wont run. i installed MSE and ran it and it cleaned a few things but malwarebytes wont run still.
I dont have the manufacturers software (well, its "somewhere").
is there a place to dl it from? its an hp laptop,

oh yeah and it wont let me get into the run command either.

Did you try to run Mbam in Safe Mode with Networking?

If it's a newer HP laptop, it has bios-based diagnostics. Otherwise, you can download it from the hard drive manufacturer's site.

tried it and, nothing. it wont even run mbam and thats why i dont thing its a disk issue. this thing has all the traits of malware....not letting me into the run command not letting mbam run etc. but then again yall have forgotten more than ill ever know.

G how do i get into the bios based diagnostics? is it f-10 that gets you into the bios?
nevermind i got it, running it now.

ok it passed all the diagnostic tests:
Quick
Comprehensive
SMART

and i also ran a mem test for gigles since i was already there and it passed.

Go to Bleepingcomputer.com and dowload "rkill". It will stop malicious programs from running so you can open mbam and run a scan.

dl'd rkill but it didnt do much, but as i researched a bit more i found that if you rename the mbam.exe file to mbwam.exe or what ever you like, malwarebytes will update and then run.
running it right now so we will see if it works.
once again i thank you all for your help.

so renaming mbam to something else worked, I was able to run it and it found many problems and i deleted them. I will go ahead and run a few other programs like suggested in here and post the results for anyone else that has teh same probs.
