Question Can't remove IE8

Greetings,
My computer's screen resolution abruptly changed.
If I go to properties and use 800 X 600, it's way too big.
I have tried in vain to roll back to IE7.
It is not showing in My control panel and I have attemped to follow the instructionsa at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 , to no avail.
Can not do a system restore either for some reason.
Can anyone help with this???

Thanks,
Jack
