Hard drive reformat

Hello everyone.

Before anyone questions this, I have reformatted many computers over the years. I recently have been having issues with my machine which has windows 7 installed. I believe all my problems and so forth are related to a corrupt file of some sort within my windows 7 installation. In an attempt to fix any and all issues, I have gone ahead and formatted using my Windows 7 disk. I really seem to be having the same issues as previous (example would be control panel opening whenever it wants to, or windows explorer not wanting to display). I have reason to believe that not all my files were deleted off the harddrive. As such, I am looking for a different means of formatting my hard drive. I have considered using my windows xp disk and waiting the X hours for my drive to format if that means confirming all files are deleted.

What is everyone's thoughts.

Thanks

Create a boot disk and run it. It's also very easy to use.

Whats puzzling is once you have deleted your directory, issues from what was on the hard drive should not be recurring. I suspect a hardware issue or possibly a bad BIOS.
