Windows 7 Multiple Services Terminate Unexpectedly
Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions what this could be? I am using Windows 7 Professional x64 and Event Viewer is occasionally logging a group of services that are terminating unexpectedly with Event ID 7031. It is always the same group of services, and normally they all start again without a problem. Only once did the Audio Service not start again, which is how I became aware of the issue.
Services are the following: Windows audio service DHCP client service Windows event log service Homegroup provider service TCP/IP netbios helper service Security center service I can only find one other reference to this issue, but it doesn't help at all: Many services "terminated unexpectedly" at random times - Windows 7 Forums Thanks, TJK

I take it you already googled extensively for the error code, right? What are the processes running at the time these terminations happen? Most of the problems that came up when I googled that error code were related to the printer spooler, what printers do you have?

Yeah, I did plenty of Googling and also saw the references to the print spooler. I have an Epson DX8400 but it's rarely used so I made the assumption that it wasn't the culprit. Maybe it would be wise to print some things this evening and see if it causes the errors to be logged...!? Is there any way I can view processes that were running at a particular time, or is it only possible to obtain that information real time? Cheers, TJK |

You can try that and see. Then you can try disabling the print spooler and see as well.
I don't know if you can view the processes that were running at a particular time, all I know is to see the ones running in real time. I was taking a look at the Event Viewer and couldn't find anything that would record past events, but I think there must be a way, I just don't know it. |
