Sound feeding back - how do I stop without disabling everything?
Hello,
it's very irritating. The stereo mix on my Win7 Dell is determined to feed back. Any ideas what's causing it. How could the mixer be feeing into itself? There's obviously a line out to the speakers and a line in, which is disabled/listen off and it still feeds back. I can't find many positive comments about Win7 sound. Any help much appreciated. Is this a lappy or a desktop?
Do you have electrical devices near the speakers? Do you have a mic plugged in?

Hello, it's a desktop XPS.
And no mic connected, just line, which is not listening ... and no electrical devices. |

Have you tried a different headset / speakers?

No, I haven't another pair. But these worked fine in my XP PC. What could be looping back into the stereo mix?

check your audio settings and make sure your audio bass boost is off.
Speaker Properties > Enhancements > "Disable All Enhancements" |
