Dual OS ??
Hello anyone, I've just built my first PC and so far so good, however the primary program I use on it is for a 32 bit OS and I've installed a 64 bit OS.Is there a past forum which addresses a dual OS set up which I can scope out? I'm hoping to load my 32 bit Vista as a secondary to my new 64 bit Windows 7,and when I choose to run those programs of 32 bit I can boot with vista. Possible????

Usually 32 bit applications will run on a 64bit Windows platform.
What program are you trying to run?

In only found one program out of over 60 that wouldn't run in Windows 7 64 bit.
That was InDesign CS2, I had to upgrade to CS4. Even my old Tomb Raider Games from the 90s run. You should be able to run both operating systems together in a dual boot setup, but I wouldn't bother with it unless you actually find things you can't run. There is an easier solution depending on which program he's trying to run.

Thanks for response
Hello all, Sorry to take so long to respond...work. Program I am working on is 2008 version of Autocad with a demo version of 3-D cadmech. I'm told the demo version[free] is no longer given out. I'm just trying to teach myself this stuff and not quite ready to shell out thousands for the real programs. My hope is to load my 32 bit Vista behind my new 64 bit W-7 and boot from vista when I want to work on CAD. I seem to be seeing that it is possible to partition my drive and load vista but not quite clear on whether both OS have to be the same bit. Also I think it would be sweet to have my vista boot on a different drive, and use exclusively for cad.
