You have a video driver problem. The clue is nvmcp64.sys.

Red I used the drivers from nvidia, just like I did after my first install.. Also looked to see if any were available for the MB, but none.

Uninstall the drivers. Then delete that file so that Windows won't automatically install it the next time you boot. Then proceed to manually install the newest drivers from nVidia.

So now my computer doesn't shut down properly it just hangs.. I rand memtest86 yesterday and their did not find any errors. So today I ran the windows memory diagnostic test, and it says there is a memory problem.. So do I just call Corsair, or what? I have had these 4 1gig sticks one pair of 4 yrs, and the other two for about 2yrs..

Corsair ram has a lifetime warranty. Determine which module or modules are bad and contact them for a RMA. If you bought dual channel kits, both modules must go back.

What about a nuke and pave? Or maybe you have a spare HDD you can install Windows onto just for testing? I had a machine last December that sometimes failed memory tests and it ended up being a corrupt Windows installation.

Nuke I could try that as well.. First I going to test each set in pairs.. I will have to do all that my next days off, which won't be until 24th my b-day of all days. One thing I did notice in memtest 86 it shows the voltage as 2.60 there suppose to be 2.75. And the timings as 3-3-3-7 they are suppose to be 2-3-3-6. Now I do not know if that means anything, but I have not changed settings at all set installing this board..

Hmm, go into the BIOS setup and check the voltages. Don't change anything, just take note of what their values are. Boot and see if you can use Asusprobe or some probing software to find out what your voltage values are reported under Windows.
I remember that when I built my current workstation everything was working fine, but starting a 3D game would bring up all kinds of weird colours and artifacts on the screen and I had to reboot a lo bruto. I even opened a ticket to RMA the video card but then decided to run Asus Probe and found out that some voltages were out of whack (and those were the Asus defaults!! The video card had nothing to do with it); setting them to their right values solved the problem and the machine has performed flawlessly ever since. After this probing you can then go into the BIOS again and manually set the voltages to their right values and reboot. See if the problem goes away. If it comes back, check the voltages again. If they're out of whack again, then either some SW is changing them somehow, or you have an ailing mobo. |

If the ram is rated for 2.75, manually set the ram voltage to 2.75 and leave everything else in auto.

I called Corsair today, this is what they told me about the voltage and timings.. He said the timing should be between 2.60-2.75, and the timings reading they way they are because I'm running 2gig pairs 4 gig total ????? But I will do as suggested and run a probing software, and see what it says...

Ok I down loaded SiS Sandra, it reports memory fine, but it reports my cpu like this.
Warning 235: Vcore less than rated minimum. In bios this is what I found CPu Core Voltage 1.35v LDT Bus Voltage 1.22v Chip Set Voltage 1.54v Dram 2,5Voltage 2.80v So are these right? CPU is AMD Athlon 64X2 4800+ Last edited by doubledragon5; 01-21-2011 at 04:19 AM. |

1.35 Vcore is correct. Your dram voltage is too high though.

Problem found.. First called Corsair, their tech support had me manually set ram settings. CAS 2 5-3-3-7 Dram V 2.80. Then after running each stick individually the fourth one failed during the sixth test.. Now will call them tomorrow, and get RMA and send back two..
