Some questions about Win 7

The place I work at recently upgraded from Win XP Pro to Win 7 Pro, and there's a couple things I seem to miss from XP...

1) un-ZIP'ing multiple .zip files at once (I frequently need to download many zipped map files from a server and with XP I could un-zip in batches, each file to it's own folder). With Win 7 it seems I have to un-ZIP files one at a time.

2) "Copy to" command in Paint, in XP's Paint I could select part of an image and "copy to" another file, without messing up or closing the original file. I don't see this option in Win 7 Paint

Just curious why these features are missing, or if maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks

I'm sure you could take care of those with 3rd party software.

M$'s idea of innovation is changing things regardless of whether they need to be changed in the first place. “Just make it look different” even if it breaks its former functionality.

Use Winzip (not free) or 7-Zip for your zip files.

Win7's Paint does let you select a portion of an image and copy/cut it and paste it elsewhere. You have to use the Select button. Yes, the program is pretty pedestrian, but it does let you do basic editing.
