Diskette drive 0 seek failure

I recently started getting a "diskette drive 0 seek failure" Press F1 to continue F2 to enter SETUP on my screen. This only happens when the computer is started up in the morning. What would cause it? Im not sure if this is needed, but im running a Dell inspiron 530 with a DVD RW and a DVD ROM. Windows 7 with a Intel core 2 processor.Diskette drive 0 seek failure-p1000141.jpg

Does the system actually have a floppy disk drive installed? If not, make sure the BIOS settings show 0 floppy disk drives installed.

Have you gone into the BIOS to check to make sure that the BIOS reflects that no floppy drives are installed?

Look under "Standard CMOS Features". If there's an item listing Floppy Drives make sure it is set to None.

That did the trick! thank you very much! now if i could figure out why i always have to click the "enlage" button on the top right screen (the website i visit never fills the whole screen until i click it) and the beep i hear from the computer (no speakers hooked up) when it powers up...would a possibly bad DVD ROM cause that?

1. One beep is normal - that means that the POST was successful.

2. Use your mouse to drag and resize the browser window to the position and size you want. Then close the browser and it *should* remember the position and size.

Try holding the CTRL or the SHIFT key when you close the browser with the X in the corner.

That's pretty drastic and I don't think that's necessary. What exact browser is that?

I agree with glc, reformatting for that minor issue is very drastic and you may end up with other issues. It's your decision but, personally, I would just deal with it.
