Windows 7 Questions
When I opened Reaper (my recording host) I got this:
#R2 Impossible to write license information to the registry. After doing a bit of research I read something about running the program as administrator might solve the issue. Sure enough it seems like the dialog box has gone away. Then I unchecked the Run as administrator box and opened up Reaper and I haven't seen the error box. I'm kind of confused about this administrator stuff. According to my book, there is a default administrator account which is disabled by default. Okay, so the account that I set up during the set up process is simply another administrator account? Is the administrator account that I set up during installation a little less powerful than the built-in default administrator account? And is there a way to give the disabled default administrator account a different name? And how do you enable it? In XP just hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL twice would bring up the default administrators log on box. |

The way I understand it, the priviledges are the same. But you have to take ownership of the folder you want to access.
If it's not directly related to your logon, 'administrator' owns the file. I got Win 7 pro and I was happy with it untill I wanted to modify an .INI file in one of my own programs. 7 said the file did not belong to me. Errgghh! Try this: Add Take Ownership Option Shortcut in Right Click Menu of Windows 7
