Control Panel->Sound->Playback Tab. Try changing the default by right clicking on a device in there to something else until you get your internet audio back. I have had this happen many times.

Did you check the audio button in the bottom right corner and click mixer? There you can control individual programs audio level.

It's not uncommon to encounter issues after an update involving IE. I see them frequently. My belief is they are caused by an incompatible add-on. The "fix" I use is a Reset of IE. Open Internet Options, Advanced tab, down at the bottom is the Reset button. Try that if you ever have this problem again. Works for me.

That worries me because I never use IE. I have been a Mozilla/firefox guy for years.

Some computer mysteries are never solved.
Add it to the mystery of why Microsoft named a folder for 32 bit software named "x86". Add it to the mystery of why you are forced to make three clicks to shut down Windows XP and two clicks to shut down Windows 7. Or you can't see through the Windows icon. Isn't it supposed to be a window? Or why its okay to put Windows on a Mac but Steve Jobs freaks out if you try putting OS X on a PC?
