Remove Ubuntu

Hello Wise people,

Please help me. I have ubuntu operating system on my oldish advent laptop. now I am trying to remove it and put windows xP or Windows 7 how do I go about it?

When you go through the installation of Windows you'll be able to format the hard drive, so no need to remove Ubuntu separately from the Windows install.

You should probably zero fill the hard drive first to remove the Linux boot loader.

Another option is 'fixmbr'. Here is more info.

I've done this method a time or two...a little quicker than zero filling (I am impatient )
