Server 2008 question
I was installing an MFP the other day and as they had a lot of workstations I decided to put the print driver on the server. Server 2008 64bit. Not just because of the number of workstation but if the client decides to change something, like defaulting to monochrome instead of color, they only have to change the one driver on the server and the change is effective on all the ws. The ws were Win 7 and the driver failed to load because they were all 32 bit. There wasn't a 32 bit driver for the server of course. I began to locally install a 32 bit driver on each ws.
Their off-site IT person called and said it wasn't necessary, he could install the rest. I offered to email him a link to the 32 bit driver and he said he didnt need it. I asked how he was going to set up the 64b diver from the server onto a 32b machine and he said. "I just will" and hung up! Pxick! I wasn't looking to take his job, just trying to save him some time. Anyway, the question is what is the trick to installing a compatible driver from Server 2008 to a 32 bit OS?
