Windows.old in Windows 7
I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit Home Premium from Windows XP Media Edition. I was under the impression that the new installation would remove all traces of Windows XP, but I find that there's a folder called Windows.old which appears to contain all the files from the previous system. I do not intend to run Win XP again on this PC so is it safe to delete Windows.old?
Also, why is there two Program Files entries in my Windows folder? There's a Program Files and a Program Files (x86)

Yes, it's safe to delete.
Program Files contains 64 bit programs, Program Files (X86) contains 32 bit programs. |
