Win7 IE9
What does it take to get rid of the close last ,close all box thats a total nuisance , also what needs done to keep from whan closing a tab to keep the last up , how can IE possibly know if I choose to select another desktop icon to open.

Tools > Internet Options > Tabs > Settings. There you can control tab behaviour. The very first option should take care of your first problem when unticked.
