Scirpt for Shutting down after # time.
Hello everyone,
I'm not asking for any script, but just to know if there is an option in my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit to allow me leave a message for my Desktop that says after ## (lets say 3hr) shut down ? I'm asking this because I want to download a file, while is about 5GB and needs time to download, so I want to leave my desktop ON over night, that by the time the file is downloaded, as my message says turn off the computer after 9hr, my PC is resting too. I changed the sleep time of Windows to Never, so it wont go to sleep and cancel my downloading. Anyway, I hope I get a message as soon as possible. Thanks! (and sorry for my bad english) |

Control How and When Your Computer Shuts Down with Shutdown Timer - AppScout
I have never used it so I cannot vouch for it.

interesting, any other suggestion?
I remember my friends were talking about Windows 7 which has a software from it self that you can set it for a time and choose a music. After a while, let say you set the time for 3:00 am, the Desktop would turn on by it self and play the music that you chose. bad me that didnt bother listening to it... so just asking if anyone got any idea of it, and I'm looking for setting a time, let say 8:00am in the morning, my desktop which is ON would start shutting down at 8:00am ... PS: i know enlgish problem... |

Look into download managers. They can often speed up your download but can also shutdown your computer when the download completes. Here's an example: Internet Download Manager.

If all you want to do is shutdown at a certain time you could do that with the Win 7 scheduler, no need for a 3rd party app.
