BOOTMGR is missing
Hi all,
I just added linux to a newly partitioned harddrive, and I can select windows in the bootloader, however when I do so I get the error "BOOTMGR is mising." Ordinarily I would run fixmbr from a windows recovery console, however I don't have a Windows7 disc. The OS was installed using a network install at school. Is there somewhere I could obtain a windows 7 disc? (I have a license, just need access to the recovery console). Or is there another way to fix the windows bootloader? Thanks in advance! -Lefty

Well I got it fixed, and am posting in case someone else runs across the thread with the same issue.
Turns out you can create a windows rescue cd from any windows7 machine. Fortunately I had access to another machine to do this on, and was able to run the cd, select repair options => startup repair, and it fixed it! Took two restarts, but now Windows and Linux are once again living in harmony. Or something. If anyone knows where/how one can obtain this rescue cd w/o access to a windows box, that would be useful information. |

Is this what you're looking for?
Download Windows 7 System Recovery Discs — The NeoSmart Files Edit: Just followed the link and it's a paid for service. Sorry. RE-Edit: OK, try here: http://digiex.net/downloads/download...very-disc.html mickzer. Last edited by mickzer; 08-28-2011 at 09:22 AM. |

I had found that neosmart link, and run into the paywall. Thanks for the other link, that's just what I need (And it lets me keep the disk around in iso form so I can just throw it on a usb stick if/when needed).
