Check the power option settings. It could be that the PC is now going into Hibernate mode instead of sleep mode (hibernate uses less power and might be the default). If you press the power button does it come on then?

When I had a wired keyboard, there was a setting in the BIOS to start my computer when I tapped any key. Now that I have a wireless keyboard it can't possibly work like that anymore. So, I had to go back to pushing the button. Have you looked in the BIOS for this setting yet?

You are right, I had a PS2 keyboard and that is the setting I used.
I looked in my AMI BIOS just now and saw under advanced that I have a USB Configuration setting. There are three settings there. 1. USB Controller - Enabled 2. USB 2.0 Support - Installed 3. Legacy USB Support - mine is set to auto I would try one of the other settings there to see if this would help. The computer must be able to see the keyboard if it is turned off, maybe one of these legacy settings will allow this. |

In this state, your PC is technically in standby and this is the default standby state if S3 is not supported. Power consumption is Five Watts to Thirty Watts of Power. S3 - Suspend to RAM (context saved to RAM) In this state, your PC in standby and all fans, hard drivers and other devices are powered down into a sleep state. Power consumption is less than Five Watts. |

Ok here are my setting's as they are right now now but the Manual does not say alot rather it looks like a Fancy Word Paper you get from a Lawyer it's say's alot but does'nt really say anything to anyone who don't understand that Stupid Talk.
Suspend Mode is set to Auto repost video S3 Resume is set to yes and Eup Ready is disabled what does the Eup ready mean,I know I had alot of problems with my MotherBoard in the past and that's because from the Factory it is set to S1 not S3 and although it would wake up from sleep mode it would never give me a Picture so I would have to shut it down and then restart it again sometimes 2 to 3 times and that was a really long time ago and when I clled Asus they said set it to S3 but I can not remeber what else was set if anything. I'm thinking for some reason the USB Controler could be shut down when it is Sleep Mode and there for can not respond to me Tapping the KeyBoard,as I state before a light on my KeyBoard would always stay on but now when it is sleep mode the same light is always off,can anyone tell me what I could do to turn the USB Controler back on if this is the problem. Open Device Manager and then expand the USB section - and go into each Root Hub - uncheck the boxes that allow the computer to shut them down.

Thanks alot glc what you told me to do did not work when I checked off what you said under USB Root Hub but what you told me to do got me thinking right after I tried what you said to do I thought to myself the KeyBoard is in the Device Manger and I check under Properties then Power Management and there it was a Box that said Allow this Device to wake the Computer.
Thanks again glc |
