I've had issues with explorer 7 or 8 I don't know which one, how do I find out which one I have?
While on the net I have found that explorer slows down to a crawl and half the time I get the "Windows cannot display page" comes up quite a bit. I have run the Reset Internet Explorer Settings Fix It and have found that it has helped, is there any other ways of sorting out this issue? My PC has windows 7 OS Intel 2600K 8GB ram corsair vengence Asus P8Z68 Delux MB Asus 580 GTX Corsair AX 850 PSU WD 1TB caviar black Corsair 60GB SSD Thermaltake Black Chaser Mk-1 full tower |

Windows 7 came with IE8, and IE9 is the latest. Usually, HELP - ABOUT will tell you what you have.

I do have explorer 9 and was wondering if it has any issues as its still slow.
Should I uninstall explorer 9 and let it revert back to 8 and see what happens? |

Chrome is better in my opinion. It also does not seem to have as many problems. At least give it a try.

I agree chrome is 100000000000xs faster IE gets annoying at times. I don't have a bunch of tool bars either. By the way quick question, I have a bunch of bookmark in my chrome does this slows it down?

Before you surrender your privacy to Poogle, try flushing the DNS cache.

And before you take someones word that Google is faster, try IE9, it is quick and reliable. Of course you will need WIndows 7 to run IE9.

Where exactly are you lost? Did you open a command line window and run the commands in the article, then rebooted? That's all you need to do.

Sorry didn't clarify, I meant I am lost in understanding the purpose of the DNS flush. I believe the purpose of this is the same as going to options on the internet server you are currently using and deleting the cache or cookies stored of the site history?

No, it's not the same. The purpose is still to make the browser run faster, but it's not the same, nor can you flush the DNS via the options in the browser/control panel; some things still have to be done in the command line.

You don't need a mouse to use a command prompt.

The Internet has been experiencing hiccups as of late. Even this site was down for a while a few days ago.
