How to change the local disks order?

Hi, I just built a new Win7 PC. I have 2 HDDs (500 and 1000 GB). The OS is on the first partition of the 500 GB drive. I selected in BIOS boot manager this drive to be the first, followed by dvd-rom. There was no 1 TB drive in the list. Then, when I'm in Windows, the local disks order is: C - 1st partition of the 500 GB HDD, D, E - 1 TB HDD, F, G - 2ns and 3rd partitions of the 500 GB drive. H - DVD.
What am I missing here? I want it to be this way: C, D, E - 1st hdd (500 GB), F - DVD, G, H - 2nd hdd. Everything was fine on the previous build (the OS was Vista).

Help me please.

Upd: the Windows Disk Manager detects the drives correctly - 500 GB - disk 0, 1 TB - disk 1.
Upd 2: in the drives' properties 1 tb drive is channel 0, 500 gb - channel 1. Is this the reason? Haw to swap them?

You can change the drive letter of any drive or partition in disk management - EXCEPT the active OS partition (C). If the letter you want to use is already taken, change it to something else temporarily. Simply right click on the partition.

Thanks. But will it have any consequences? The 1 tb drive still will be booting first.

Is Windows on drive E? That's not good.

You should not connect any additional drives when installing Windows. You should also only create the first OS partition and do the install. THEN you can reconnect the other drives and create the rest of your partitions. I'd recommend you wipe and start over.

No, Windows is on drive C. Just wanted to know there would be no pitfalls after changing the drive letters. They're changed now - everything is fine. Thank you.
