Blue screen

Uh. What do I do if I don't want to reinstall?

In Vista.

Safe mode works fine.

What other info can I give you?

Thanks

What is the error code of the blue screen? It should look something like this, but with various numbers and letters: 0x00000000

Did you install any hardware or software recently?

Did you make any changes in the BIOS?

I'm not sure if you can install this under safe mode or not since I haven't tried to do so, but you can try a program called WhoCrashed, which may help analyze what the blue screen error message means: http://www.resplendence.com/download...ashedSetup.exe

What are your system specs?

You need to at least try and figure out the blue screen because it might be hardware related. Do you know the stop code from the blue screen?

If you can download the Ultimate Boot CD and burn to a disc. You can run some diagnostics from the that.

I think its 0x0000000A 0x00000001 0x00000002 0x81C601 (EDIT: still trying to get the last #. when i made it crash again, the last number was different. It started 0x81C531)

not sure about how many 0 are in there.

No changes to bios.

Its my girlfriends computer. She got a virus, and in the cleaning process she probably wiped something good with avast.

What would be the solutions for fixing BSOD STOP 0×00000124 Error?
  • Clean your RAM with a soft cloth
  • Clean your registry and remove junk
  • Update your drivers
  • Processor overheating
  • Remove recently installed software
  • Change the cords of your hard disk
  • Clean the disk by deleting temporary stuff

For deleting temporary files follow the following stpes:
  • Click Start.
  • Click All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk CleanUp.
  • Select your system drive, for example, drive C.
  • Press ENTER.
  • Follow the instructions on your screen.
