Make Win7 Un-bootable

Windows 7 was corrupted-would not boot. Tried everything! Final solution Installed Windows 7 on different hard drive & now I want to add the original drive as a "D" drive but need to make it so it will NOT try to boot & cause conflict. What folder in Windows should I delete to accomplish this?

I'm not sure of your set up but if you just plug the old C drive into anything other than sata 1 or even IDE 1 if it's an older system, it won't boot from it unless you choose it from a menu that you may or may not have available.

Don't even have to do that - just set the desired hard drive first in the boot order.

Hi

The boot file is created during the install process.

If there wasn't a second version of Windows available when you did the installation it won't have it in the boot instruction so it will boot to the new install with out asking you.

If you wanted it to dual boot you could add the second hard drive using EasyBCD, if it was a bootable copy of Windows.
