Advice on BIOS flash please

Mainboard : Asus M3N72-D

So I need to flash my bios so that this board will accept my upgrade chip. I got on the MOBOS site and downloaded the flash but it will not run on this OS (I am two days new to W7). If anyone can walk me thru this I would greatly appreciate it.

NEW CHIP: AMD Athlon II (3.2 ghz tricore)

You don't flash a bios in Windows. Your manual tells you how. If you don't have the manual you can download it, procedure is on page 4-5 (section 4.1.3).

Download the bios and extract the .rom file to a USB flash drive. Turn the computer OFF and insert the flash drive. Turn the computer on and press Alt+F2 (or enter the bios setup and look in the Tools menu) to run EZ-Flash 2.

You should never flash the BIOS in the OS no matter what the motherboard manufacture tells you. You are asking for major trouble. Follow the procedure glc outlined for you.
