Hi Gang
I did not know where you put this post before I find out a few things, so I will start here. I watch a lot of movie previews, like on IMDB, and for the longest time I would use the Standard setting and they played real good, no stuttering, etc. But recently they are almost like the old silent movies, stuttering, etc. And the sound is sort of ok. Now what would you brainy people look at first.? I have not changed anything to my knowledge, same video card, settings, etc. I just want your ideas as to what to look at first, settings, programs, etc. Thanx....Gunny

Hi Jdeb
I don't think you are understanding what I said. I go to the IMDB site and I click on movie preview, and this is where the problem is. They have or you use Flash player to view their movie previews. You have a choice of Standard, 480 or 720. I usually use the standard setting because it works 99% of the time. Does this make it a little clearer.? Thanx...Gunny |

There have been a few updates to flash in the past week. Are you up to date on the version?

Are you getting live streaming or is what you are watching already been streamed and recorded? Your bandwidth or slowdowns in your bandwidth can affect live streaming.
The stuttering sounds like a buffering problem from something.

Hi David
Ya it seems to be a buffering problem, if you watch the bar that shows the running of the preview there is no buffer there at all. And doing some research on this it seems to be with IMDB site mostly. I can watch news videos and You tube with very little stuttering, or stoppage. I have contacted IMDB and asked them a few questions, and they have not gotten back to me yet. How do you correct a buffering problem.? Thanx....Gunny |

I'm not familiar with IMDb. Do you get these live streamed or downloaded and then watched? If these are live streamed then it may be that their server is slow at times. Try sometime in the middle of the night when most people are asleep and see if that makes a difference which would indicate the source of the problem.
I notice with Netflix live streaming that it is sometimes laggy in the evenings when the demand is greatest. Last edited by David M; 01-13-2012 at 11:58 AM. |

Hi David
Ya IMDB is a very popular movie site, and a very good one. You can find out anything there has to do with movies, actors, movie previews, etc. I have used it for years. I really don't think it is the time of day thing, cause I can bring it up on my other computer and it plays the previews just fine. So I am thinking it has to do with the buffering or Adobe, ot something like that. Thanx....Gunny |

Hi All
If some of you just go to that IMDB site and do a prevew movie you will see what I am talking about. Just to be on the up and up I uninstalled all my Adobe stuff, and reinstalled the very latest. Still the same problem. I watched it closer this time when I was previewing a movie and the buffer was way out in front of the progress bar, so it should have been playing right, but ir wasn't. Still the same. It is like a flash card affect I am getting. No smooth movie action. Thanx....Gunny |

Didn't have a problem here: preview played faster than videos on other sites.
