msi installer unavailable

Hello. My Win7 says when I try to run msi files that the msi installer isn't available. It's running as a service though. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

The build was restored on to another partition so now has another drive letter D: as root. The c: drive is Vista - the original build so I can't make Win7 build c. The cloned Win7 build was W:\.

The build works fine otherwise so far.

Help much appreciated,

Dazzer

No but I am administrator.
I notice that it is trying to install on w: rather than d: (it doesn't allow you to choose location)
Does this suggest it thinks the root drive or system drive is w:
How do I fix that?

I think you had better bring up your previous threads on your drive letter fiasco and fix it RIGHT.

With proper CLEAN installs, there's no reason why each OS won't see itself as C.
