Desktop icons gone generic
Windows 7 64 bit
Desktop icons have gone generic, cannot change them Task bar and links bar icons ok If I pin an Icon to task bar it assumes proper type/picture/style have tried changing themes Checking and un checking desktop icons Deleted icon cache in john/ apdata/ local no help Ran cfc /SCANNOW reports all ok Any words of wisdom?

Have you tried a system restore ?
Here is a link for rebuilding Icon Cache, I have used it one time successfully. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...e-rebuild.html |
