We need the actual BSOD code; the Windows report is pretty useless.
What we need looks like this: IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL, or something like that. You read that right off the first lines of the BSOD itself. The numeric code that follows the message in CAPS is also useful. Of course your machine needs to be set up to not reboot on system errors: click on the Start orb, choose Control Panel, then click on the System item; there, in the left panel, click on Advanced System Settings > click on the Settings... button in the last of the three categories displayed (Startup and Recovery) > and uncheck 'Automatically Restart'. Click OK twice and close the System/Control Panel window.

You can also install WhoCrashed and run it. It may give you the exact reason for the BSOD. It reads the dump file.

i cant say i say i knew what i was doing or if what i did fixed it... but, i had a BSOD on my computer, none of the repair suggestions worked, it was a boot up problem. i took out the HD and hooked up my EZ-dock2 to my wifes computer, i could access the C/ drive with that.
i ran SpeedyPCPro on my wife's computer, on all drives..both HD's.. i put it back in my computer and it works fine. it is still problem free after a couple months.

7E is pretty generic - but could you please verify the exact .sys file referenced?
I think you have a video driver problem. |

Couldn't be sure from your specs, but this isn't an nForce chipset, is it?

WhoCrashed will probably narrow it down but I agree with glc about the video driver. What video card and driver are you using?

Right now I have the gt 520 nvidia 1024 mb ddr3 but the one I had before was the 8600 gt nvidia which I thought was giving me problems so I replaced it with the 520 since I put in the 520 the screen stays on and does not die like the 8600 but I am still getting the blue screen

I've never seen a sys file name with a space in it. Do you mean nvhda64v.sys ?
That's the Nvidia HDMI audio driver. Go to nvidia.com and download the latest driver, which is 295.73. UNINSTALL any previous Nvidia drivers and software and install the new driver. |

I have done a reformat and installed a new video card, the new card does not shut down the system the old one did, I uninstalled the old drivers before the new card was installed but I still get the blue screen only when the system falls asleep, if I shut it down normally it does not give me the blue screen

Check if allow this device to wake the computer is checked in Device Manager.
1. Click Start, type Device manager in the Start search box and hit Enter. 2. Select keyboard, it will display your keyboard, right click and select ‘Properties’. 3. Select the ‘Power management’ tab. 4. Check the “Allow this device to wake the computer” check box. Repeat the above steps for Mouse, too, and restart the computer and check if that fixes the issue. Also, just to be double sure you have the latest drivers; you may check by visiting the manufacturer’s website and confirm the same. What anti virus software are you running? |

NVIDIA GeForce GT 520
295.73 Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time. This is what I get so I am currently updated, I did every thing with mouse and keyboard, I have windows 7 ultimate, I do not run any virus programs never had to deal with any viruses This will be a first if it is a virus |

A full scan should take a lot longer than that - you sure it wasn't just a quick scan?

I have less than 150 gigs of files on mine, and a full scan takes about 6 hours.
