AMD Display driver problem in Windows 7

Hey Guys,

Just completed a new build and am having one small problem. I have my monitor power option to shut off after 5 minutes. When I go to wake the monitor up it will either do 2 things. 1) Never turn back on. The computer itself is running but the monitor is still in standby mode. I have to restart the computer. 2) After a couple of seconds the monitor comes back on and windows deskstop is shown with a tooltip appearing at the bottom stating that the display driver failed to respond and was succesfully restarted. I have re-installed the current AMD drivers several times. In device manager there is a PCI Simple Communications controller that is showing up as not having a driver. I don't know if this is related or not. See below for system specs. Thanks in advance for the help.

ASUS P8Z77-V LK. Inteli5 2500. 16gb of ram. Radeon 7800.

Have you installed the Intel chipset drivers (and the other drivers on the Asus support DVD) for the motherboard?

Check you BIOS settings to be sure they are 100%.

1.)OK. I've had my set up issues, but I generally refer to the mobo manual
to interpret the actual tech muck - so do. (download it to save time)
2.)BIOS updates too.

3.)Most displays have driver updates too - check into them.
4.) AMD Vision - you've already updated it to the correct download - meh, install it again or re-download it and install it again to be 110% sure.
5.) Run any registry repair you have and CCleaner.

Not sure what else to recommend beyond these.. Possibly hardware beyond this
if no success.

Yes I have installed the chipset drivers that I dowloaded directly from Asus.

And there's four other steps yet to confirm that I recommended.

Have you tried them?
