Hi Gang
An easy question this time. Are the HD's any diff that come in an external back up device, then a normal everyday HD.? Thanx....Gunny

Not really. They are either Sata or IDE. Many time, they will have a low power hard drive in them like a Western Digital Caviar Green which will work but are not optimal for loading the OS and Apps.

Boy that was fast you are right on. Ok I understand that no problem. So the reason I was asking is this I ran across a 2T external storage thing this guy has for sale at a very good price, way cheaper then if you simply went and bought a 2T drive. Thanx....Gunny |

External backup enclosures generally have 5400rpm drives in them as opposed to the faster 7200rpm drives which may partially account for the lower cost.
