Question Runtime error

Hi Gang

I have not seen one of these errors for a long time, a Runtime error.

I have this program I have used for a couple of months and it has worked great, now all of a sudden when I click on it I get the runtime error.

I did some reading on what an runtime error is, and it seems there are several explanations of what it is. Can someone explain this in plain english, and is there a fix for it.?

Thanx....Gunny

A runtime error is an error that's generated when a program encounters and unexpected instruction and doesn't know what do to with it.

So, what is generating this error and what are you doing that leads up to it?

Hi force

Ok great explanation. This was sort of what I was thinking it was. Sort of like hey something is wrong with this program, so we are not going to let you open it.

Thanx...Gunny

Technically speaking, it might actually be the program itself causing the error. A windows update might have changed something it relies on, or another program may have updated or changed a supporting dll file.

Without a clear description of the program or the error it produces, my definition is extremely broad.

I've started getting runtime error 216 notices only online and only when I click on links on certain sites (pcmag, buy.com) but never on other site's (amazon, cbs) links. I'm inclined to think it has to do with poor programming by some of these sites.
