I would like to add a Folder to the start menu. Similar to NoteNote.
It opens to have short cuts to different related programs. Bob |

Create Folder on Start Menu (Windows7Pro)
How can I create a folder on the start menu that can hold similar programs? The Tab that opens when you roll over the StartMenu seems to have 2 areas, Left & Right. I want to create a folder on the upper left side. It would need the small triangle that lets you know it will open as a folder.
I also might want to do it to the right tab, not as important to me. I'm using Windows 7 Pro. Bob |

Sorry about the dup message.
I'm using Windows 7 Pro. You would think that "Pin to Start Menu" would work. But it does not show up on content menu of folder. Bob |

You can create and add a folder of shortcuts to your Start Menu using Windows Explorer.
For All Users, add your folder to: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu (where "C" is the letter of your system partition. For only your logon Start Menu, add your folder to: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu (where "C" is the letter of your system partition, and "username" is your Windows 7 user name.) Once the folder is added, you should then be able to use the "Pin to Start Menu" option via right-click on the folder in the Start Menu. _______________ You might also gain even faster access to such a menu by creating a toolbar for it on the taskbar. Right click the taskbar, select "Toolbars", then "New toolbar", and browse to your folder of shortcuts location to create the toolbar. _______________ Best of luck, . . . Gary |
