Reformat windows 7

I want to reformat my computer. Last did it nearly 2 years ago, trouble is I am a little hazy now on what to do.
Could someone please run through the steps I need to take.
I have the original Windows 7 disk.
Thanks

Enter the BIOS and set the DVD rom as 1st boot device... pop the DVD in the dvd drive and hit F10 and enter...

boot to DVD and Install and Select the Advance Options and format the drive

Reformat windows 7

Thanks for your reply.
When i last last reinstalled Windows 7 it was because of a crash.
Crashes aside is it really necessary to reformat on a regular basis if the computer is functioning normally?
I have been reading various opinions about this and I am thinking if its not broke why go to all the trouble?

I hardly ever reformat or reload windows... with windows in todays world I dont think its as necessary as it once was.... I can for 4+ years on a single install.

The only time I reformat is due to Malware. Typically W7 and Vista have automatic scheduled defrag on spin drives and good housekeeping typically keep things in order. I have Vista and W7 customers that have never had a reload and were talking 2007 on the Vista machines. I actually have a customer build in the shop now from May 2007 with Vista 64 Business and it runs great and passed all diagnostics. I replaced the Rosewill Card Reader. Hard drive (WD Black) at 75% health. Workstation gets used 5-7 days a week. Asus P5K Board.

XP and older are about the only Windows Distro's that I have used that can benefit from it.
