Win 7 32 bit key to activate 64 bit?

I have a new 32 bit Win 7 Pro that was purchased a couple years ago and never installed. I would like to load a 64 bit Win 7 and use the 32 bit key. Does anyone know if the 32 bit key will work on 64 bit?

Yes, as long as it's Pro and the same type (OEM, retail, or upgrade).
