Anyone Tried This?

I cleaned out storage today and gave 3 old monster monitors to bud at PC shop and he showed me this. He loves it for $5. Makes Win8 like 7.

I have installed this free opensource version on about fifteen Windows 8 machines since Christmas and it works perfect every time.

I have tried Start8 to see what it was like. I didn't get on with it and thought it easier to use the new UI.

I tried the Start8 and immediately my pc crawled and very slow opening programs. I canned it after 30 minutes. PC now back to blazing speed. Going to try the other above mentioned.

I have not encountered any performance issues with it. It does what it is supposed to do in my opinion.

Right. Start 8. If I recall correctly, there is an update for it. I have put it on a few laptops already.

Hi

I've been using Classic Shell since I moved to Windows 7, it fixes problems with the File Explorer and some other things like the scrolling programs list.

When I started beta testing Windows 8 and saw the interface I waited about 2 weeks and then installed Classic Shell and I've never looked back.

Any one using Windows 8 on a desktop PC should try it out.

I've also tried several other programs that do a similar job, but I always came back to Classic Shell.

It has been updated adding new features like a menu for Windows 8 apps and the ability to customize the interface with more options.

Mike
