Disk 0, Disk 1, Disk 2 and stuff like that
In computer management my C: Drive is currently listed as Disk 1. My second internal drive (F
is currently listed as Disk 2. My external drive (G is currently listed as Disk 0.I would prefer this: C: Disk 0 F: Disk 1 G: Disk 2 Is there a way I can change these? Like maybe going into the BIOS? |

The BIOS assigns the DISK#
I wouldn't mess with it... If they are SATA drives, you need to move the cables to the different ports. Id they are IDE drives - leave em alone

I'm not entirely sure that is what I want to do. That article talks about changing drive letters. I don't want to make my F Drive C.
I want to rearrange. So Disk 0 is now System Reserved and the rest of the C Drive. Disk 1 is now my F Drive. Disk 2 is now my G Drive. All I did was to remove my solid state Intel Drive and replace it with a mechanical Seagate Drive. I plugged in the power and data cables exactly as they were plugged into the Intel Drive. There should be no need to go inside the computer and swap cables around. Last edited by 357mag; 02-01-2013 at 02:11 PM. |
