How to burn a recovery image from recovery partition

Hello,

A friend of mine gave me his old laptop that was dropped, I had to replace the lcd screen, and now it looks like there might be something wrong with the hard drive and I might have to replace it too.

I know that I could just make an image of the current drive and install it onto the new drive and it would be done. But I am using this as a learning opportunity, and I was wondering, what if I don't want to burn an image of the entire drive, but only the recovery partition of the drive? I looked at the partition and the recovery partition of the laptop does not have a drive letter and it doesn't give me the option to add to change the drive letter, and I don't know where the folder that contains the files for reinstalling windows is located. So, my questions are this, how can I burn an image of the recovery partition only when the partition is not showing up in windows explorer because it doesn't have a drive letter, and I can't add or change the drive letter? Secondly, where would the folder that holds the files for windows recovery located in windows explorer (if it's there at all)?

The laptop is a Toshiba M505-S4972, it's currently running Windows 7 Home Premium. Thank you.

You have to boot it up into Windows and use Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator, or order a set of recovery disks from Toshiba.
