Installing Windows 8 on top of Vista & Windows 7

Hi,

Installing Windows 8 on top of Windows 7 without loosing any Data and not a UPGRADE but straight install. And your Original License don't Expire as well

This here explains how Windows 8 can be installed on top of Windows Vista & Windows 7 keeping all your Setting & Data.

Follow this Step By Step Guide.

This way will not VOID your Current Windows Vista or Windows 7 License.. Because it is not upgrade but a Full install.

The Step by Step Pictured PDF can be Downloaded at http://www.hecco.ch/downloads/instwin8.pdf

For all those who don't need a picture edition here is the short version of it..

1. Create in your Personal Windows Folder "usually My Documents" a new Folder named Windows Setup
2. Insert your Windows 8 DVD into the DVD Drive of your computer..
3. When the DVD Auto starts, then Wait until it's finished and close it.
4. Right Clicking on the DVD Drive in MY COMPUTER will bring up a Popup Menu.
5. Select OPEN
6. After you can see the FILES in the ROOT Directory of the DVD select all of o the Files.
7. Right click on the selected Files and then Select COPY
8. Now move to your NEW CREATED FOLDER "Windows Setup" Right click in the Window of this folder and select PASTE.
9. This will take a few Minute because the Windows 8 DVD is about 3 GB in Size..
10. when finished then look for the FOLDER SOURCES in the copied Files
11. Double click the Folder SOURCES and scroll down until you see a file named CVERSION.INI
12. Move this file to the DESKTOP for editing.
13. Double Clicking the file will open it up in Windows NOTEPAD.
14. You will see 3 lines in there. Like those here

15. [HostBuild]
MinClient=8550.0
MinServer=8550.0

16. Now change the number of the second and third line to followings

17. [HostBuild] ******* This is For Windows 7
MinClient=7000.0
MinServer=7000.0

For Windows Vista
6000.0
and For Windows XP -- Not Tested but I suppose it works

5000.0

18. Now save the file with the same name.. Usually just HIT SAVE from the menu will do..
19. Copy the file back into SOURCES DIRECTORY
20. Close all your other Applications
Now you should be Ready to install Windows 8 on Top of Windows 7 keeping all your Data and Settings..

So when you are finished installing then you will not need to configure or installing any applications all will be the same as it was.

21. In the Root of the Windows Setup folder double click Setup.
22. Then follow the On Screens Commands or look at my PDF File here: http://www.hecco.ch/downloads/instwin8.pdf

End
