another Vista question

Hi Gang

I received this from a friend of mine, the Vista Beta version that you can offer to 10 other people to download. My question is, if I understand it right when you go to install it you have to start with reformatting your HD that you are going to install it on.

I have 2 HD's in my computer, one is a NTS, my main one, and one is a FAT32 that I use for my crap and experimenting. I was going to install it on the FAT32 one, but stopped when I seen that you have to formate the HD first, am I understanding this right.?????

And is it true if you install it now, you get a discount on the final Vista package if you decide to buy it later.?

Thanks and take care...........Gunny

I check to make sure that the offer hasn't expired or from a questionable source. I'm pretty sure that Beta downloads have been discontinued since Vista is being released next week.

I don't think you can install Vista on fat32 but i could be wrong...Just move everything off your fat32 drive and let er rip...

Installing a Beta version doesn't get you a discount on the real deal.
Getting on the Beta team and submitting bug reports gets you a free copy...But, it's a little late for that now.

Gunny, if I were you I'd just wait - let others be the guinea pigs.

another Vista Question

Hi Gang

This was put out some time ago, my friend said he was going to send for it and we both can use it being it has up to 10 people that can download it. It expires 6-1-07, and it has the Product key and all. You might be right it does not say anything about the discount, I was told this by some one else. I think you are right GLC, there seems to be some problems with it yet. Why pay over $200 and have problems.? I have enough problems. Thank heavens PCmech can fix some of them. ha ha ha ha I said some of them. GLC I still have not found that sock drawer you talk about. ha ha ha ha

Thanks and take care......Gunny
