Change The Start Button To Whateever You Want
I found this tweak on tweakxp.com. Look in the lower left hand side of screen.

Then in notepad got to file>open>windows>system32>restore>filelist>(you might need to go to properties and take the check mark out of read only first to continue) I did to be on the safe side. Be sure to choose all files under file type. Then add this Once that is down you can change your start menue text and add more than just 5 letters, and it will be permanent untill you change it again. Next open up resource hacker I used Resoucrc Hacker version 3.2.7.54. In resource hacker go to Open>windows>explorer.exe> Then choose string table and change the text in table 37>1033 and 38>1033 when done go to file>save as and call it explorer.xp Then shut down and reboot your pc tap the F8 key and when the menue comes up choose "safe mode with command prompt" Log in as Administrator and at the prompt type in the following copy c:\windows\explorer.xp c:\windows\explorer.exe then hit enter and choose yes and your done. |
