Trouble deleting a file?
I found this on another site, tried it and it worked well, so I thought I would share it here. I had this file "hurl.exe" that I couldn't delete for anything. It's tied to realplayer and I got it when trying to listen to a soundclip. The soundclip didn't work and it left this useless file on my hard drive. It wasn't a running process, so I couldn't end it in task manager. I couldn't delete in safe mode either.
In task manager end "explorer.exe" Start a new task - "cmd" Navigate to the directory where the file exists Type "del *" Where * = the undeletable file (hurl.exe) in this case I don't see why this wouldn't work with any other problematic files, may even work with virii/spyware as well. HTH |

This is even better:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html HijackThis can delete a file on reboot too. |

Thank you, thank you. It worked a treat for me. I picked this problem up from Amazon "To hear a song sample, click on the song titles below ......."

do you end the "explorer.exe" in the "processes" within the task manager?
