Hotkeys from the Desktop
hey,
This has probably been asked a thousand times or more and I belive it may be in one of the 150 tips of the day under windows but im not sure, I have briefly skimmed through them. Anyways I'm Wondering If there is a way to make a hotkey from the desktop to take you to a certian webpage? For example If I press: ctrl + Alt + 1 (key pad end) it would bring up google or something. I dont have one of those fancy keyboards either, just a basic PS/2 keyboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. |

create a shortcut on your desktop with the URL of the page you want, right click and properties and then select the web document tab, in shortcut, press the buttons you want, save and close.
In theory its ment to work, but for me it just brings up my current page, i thnk its a security thing at work. (will try home later) |

might also point out that it does not need to be on the desktop, i put mine in the quicklaunch bar, so either a single click will open the app/page or the shortcut. For those of us who like a clean desktop.
