RENAMING THE RECYCLE BIN

1. Click Start and select Run

2. Then type regedit in the box and click OK

3. When the Registry Editor is started expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Explorer, CLSID, and {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folders.

4. When you have expanded the last folder, you should see an entry called (Default) that has no value. Right-click that entry and select Modify.

5. Next, just type Trash Compactor, or any other name, in the box and click OK.

6. Restart your pc to see the changes!

ENJOY!

Nice tip, but I usually avoid editing my registry for screwing up my computer if I do something wrong isn't worth it for me. My advice to anyone using regedit is to backup your computer and registry before doing this.

Ive done it to my recycle bin.

It works fine and it will be safe if you follow the instructions correctly.

General rule of thumb is to *always* back up the registry (do a restore point) when messing with it. Nothing should go wrong, but there's always that one time.

Changing the Bootscreen[[

To get started download a free copy of this bootscreen app. www.bootskin.com

1. Get the app running...

2. once you find the bootscreen you like, click the preview button.

3. click a button on the mouse again to exit prewview mode. If you like it click apply.

What is the advantage of renaming the Recycle Bin? Is this just a "can do" thing or just fun? I don't understand. Thanks, RevCLB

Yeah, Rev, it's just for fun. There's no reason other than making Windows more the way you want it.
