take advantage of doomed HD that still boots

This is for new or intermediate user's to help them become experts much faster.
You know when Win has been on a drive for awhile and because of to much internet surfing (at the porn sites or using aol especially) or from installing and uninstalling to many different software programs and you know that you need to re-install Windows again, weather you can fix the problems or not this is a lot of times faster and will rule out future problems. Anyway this is the best time to do what ever you want, if you screw it up no big deal right. Dont like to edit the registry to much, perfect time to do this. Most techs I think would agree with me in that most of the knowledge learned was through mistakes.
Well then, if Windows is at that point where you need to do the fdisk/format thing, then you may as well screw it up good. Change any setting you want, write any line you ever wondered about in the config.sys or autoexec.bat del. this, move that. Do this untill you have fully toasted windows and or the HD real good. The information you get out of doing this will not only help you in the future when working with PC's and Windows, but will also make the time between formats much longer.

If it never got screwed up, you would not know how to fix any problem.

LOL Interesting tip, but if you're at the stage of formatting or replacing the drive, you're right, why not take advantage of it and try the things that you were afraid to try on a functioning setup.
