I have an old Pentium I 166MHz. It is in a Vektron case, and about 4-5 years old. I would like to know what kind of case it is, to install a new motherboard and upgrade practically everything on it. If you would know a site that could help me find out the case type and where to find a suitable system pieces for a gaming pc, on the cheap side, then i would appreciate your recommendations. Anything like a 800Mhz or less is fine for gaming for me.
If you made a pc for a cheap price around $400-$500 I'd love to hear about your specs, thanks. |

Chances are this is an AT case, the new ones are ATX. In planning on doing an upgrade, look at which CPU to get, find a motherboard for it and then the RAM for the motherboard. The case/PSU is a small fraction of the total cost and it looks like a new one will be needed. If the hard drive, video card, cd-rom and monitor are OK, these can be reused, unless ...
One consideration is whether the old computer is going to be kept ... it could be the start of a network.

Thanks firstrock and archie?! The case was the one thing I was trying to figure out. I think I'll check out pricewatch.com for a good priced motherboard'n'cpu bundle.
