Well, I was offered and said, what the heck, been here a long time, sounds like fun. Bring on your tips and tricks. I'm kinda looking forward to some of the LINUX tips as I haven't fully taken the plunge yet and some inside knowlege would be nice. Post whatever tips you know even if they might be old, the newer people of the board might still benefit from them.

Cool

Hal,
I believe you will do an excellent job. I have followed other posts of yours and find them articulate and informative. Good Luck and I can't wait to see some TnT's.

I forgot to mention.... even though everyone has witnessed me "nudging" the AMD guys, I have learned a few things about the newer chips. Keep bringing on the little quirks and the workarounds. We're gonna be dealing with them in my shop soon and where do you think I'm gonna go for the answers

Hal, you are going to have Fun with the AMD Chips when you get them in the shop were you work...I love working with the K6-2 and k6-3 series....Hopefully next week I will hold my first Duron and maybe even a T-Bird.....

Chipsets that you need for the Newer AMD processors

VIA KT-133 from what I have read it is currently the best chipset. But I am the first person to start getting off topic, since this is really hardware....

I've already done a few of the K6 line without too many problems, and fortunately, I've read here several times about the patch for the K6 line and Win95. It saved me a lot of headaches. We've located at the local university, and since students are known to not have a lot of money, they of course are looking toward the AMD systems, so we have no choice but to meet that demand, or pass them to our competition. We won't be in business too long if we do that.
