Lost
The mouse I use in the server room some how came loose, so without restarting the system. What else can I do to get the computer to recognize the mouse again. I cant put into sleep mode or restart because of the servers...

You can't - you have to wait till you can do a shutdown. Plugging a PS/2 mouse in while the system is powered up CAN damage the motherboard anyway.

Maybe you can try a USB mouse if you have one around? That should be automatically detected if it's a Windows 2K/XP systems.

Or you need to track down Windows shortcuts on the keyboard - you can do everything from the keyboard.

yea, i'd go keyboard for a while until the next time the server is down... then you'll have your mouse back.

My son use to use the handicap options and use the number lock keys to navigate.
