cpu fan monitor

For those that don't know, some motherboards (the one that prompted this post was a Shuttle MK32N) require a cpu fan with a rpm monitor to be plugged into the corresponding connector on the motherboard. The reason for this is that the bios gets more intelligent with every generation and, with the latest, if there is no rpm monitor the mobo thinks that the cpu fan has quit and shuts down the mobo to prevent damage. These must be plugged in to the cpu fan connector. Case fan and system connector will not do the trick even tho the fan works.
